Baby's First Gifts

So we received some wonderful gifts from GiGi (my mom) today. Yes mom, I know that you have not completely decided on this name, but for now thats what I am calling you because I like it, haha. So, GiGi sent some adorable outfits, a few bibs (which express the baby's love for his wonderful GiGi), Baby Mozart, a Taggie blanket (which is wonderful for road trips), a snuggie bear, and a cute toy. Bailey also enjoyed smelling and admiring the baby's new gifts. I have a feeling that there will be a few tears shed over toys in our near future. Well, I guess the little guy will quickly learn to put his toys away! Great Gram (my grandmother) also sent the baby a Wubba Nub pacifier toy! Thank you both VERY much! We love you and miss you and are looking forward to seeing you in May!!!

We are also looking forward to the warm weather that is being predicated in the 10-day forecast. According to the weather channel the next 10 days are supposed to be sunny and in the upper 70's. Dan is excited because he is looking forward to riding his road bike. Me on the other hand, I am excited because I can wear flip flops!!! I am very tired of bending over to put my shoes on and constantly pulling up my pants, haha. I also think that I am going to have to make the leap this weekend and switch to maternity pants. Thus far I have been still wearing my regular pants and using rubber bands to button them. However, that is getting very uncomfortable sitting at work all day. I guess making it to 22 weeks without wearing maternity clothes is not too bad.

The little guys kicks are also getting stronger and stronger everyday and I look forward to Dan being able to feel them. He is very anxious as well! I can't believe it, but it has already been a month since our last doctor's appointment. We look forward to hearing out baby boy's heartbeat again this coming Tuesday! More updates to follow, as well as some progress on the baby's room!

20 Weeks

So we have officially made it to 20 weeks. I can't believe that we are already half way there. If the second half of the pregnancy goes as quick as the first half, the baby will be here before we know it!!! We can't wait to meet him and hold him in our arms! As promised, here is a picture of the growing "baby bump" at 20 weeks. According to the past few ultrasounds, the baby is measuring a few days ahead, so unofficially we are a little closer to 21 weeks. Maybe he is just going to be a long baby....we can only hope that he got Dan's genes for his height and not mine, haha!! Either way he is our little blessing and we already love him so much!

Also, as promised (mom), I have included a picture of my two favorite boys (Dan and Bailey)!! Soon it will be my three favorite boys!!!

New Outfits

So after finding out on Saturday that we were having a baby boy, I went to a local children's resale shop to look around....I know, I know, you can never just look! The resale shop was very nice to my surprise and has a wide selection of brand name baby clothes. I limited myself to two clothing items...so here are his first two outfits!! Now, the self control of not going shopping every weekend begins!!

Man's or Bailey's (our awesome puggle puppy) best friend. We are anxious to see how Bailey will adjust to the new addition to our family, but have no doubt that he will do just fine..he is a great dog!!

Dad's Team - Mommy Approved - Athletic Gear. I have a feeling that this outfit will get worn a lot...especially with the baby being born during baseball season and this outfit looking very similiar to Phillies Gear. We all know how big of a Phillies fan Dan is...... and I am sure that our baby boy will be right there with him, at least if Dan has anything to say about it. Haha.

It's a ......

BOY!!! We just found out that we are having a baby boy! How exciting! Obviously we did not care one way or another what the gender of the baby was....however, I loved having an older brother growing up, so I am thrilled that our first born will be a boy! We couldn't be happier and can't want to meet our little guy. About five more months (20 weeks) to go...we are half way there!

I also started feeling some kicks about two weeks ago. They bring a smile to my face every time! Although they are somewhat infrequent at this point, I still usually feel at least a few each day....especially after I eat or at night when I am relaxing!! I look forward to feeling more movement and to be able to share this feeling with Dan once the kicks get a little stronger.

Here is one of the most recent ultrasound pictures...he was hiding his face though.

Ps- I am still working on my technical skills. One of these days I will learn how to hook my laptop up to the scanner. I also must thank my wonderful husband for the custom blog background. I definitely can't take credit for that one!

Pss - A 20 week baby bump photo will be coming soon....

Anticipation

So we had our third doctor's appointment this week. The baby's heart beat was in the 150's and everything looks good to far. We are anxiously anticipating our ultrasound appointment on Saturday, March 20th. This ultrasound will be for a general anatomy check up, as well as the gender determination. We can't wait to see the baby again, hear his or her heart beat, and find out the gender! Hopefully he or she cooperates for the ultrasound tech!!!! Soon we will be able to refer to the baby as he or she instead of "baby"! :) Here is another baby bump picture from 17 weeks...and yes, I included my head this time!!
