Sleeping

I also love sleeping pictures. Nothing more pure and precious than a sleeping baby. :)

 Post morning nap

Good morning. How did that happen?

So tired

So in love with him!

Simple Fun

I love simple fun. Having a newborn really brings you back down to earth and teaches you to appreciate the important things in life...

Happy Easter!

I love Easter. I love what it stands for. I love the warm spring weather. And I love candy. This year for Easter, we headed up north to visit dear friends in Clinton, Connecticut along the shoreline. We had such an amazing time. Relaxed. Took long walks on the beach. Took Brayden to the park. And just spent time surrounded by good friends and good company. The Biondi Family had not seen Brayden since he was a few days old, so you can imagine how much he has changed in 8 months.

Everyone had a great time visiting with Brayden and needless to say, he got very spoiled by the Easter bunny this year. Brayden couldn't have done any better with the 4-hour car ride or adjusted any better to a new house and sleeping environment. He truly did amazing, which made for a great weekend all around. Oh, and Brayden started crawling last night (Easter Sunday 4.24.11) when we got home. I think we are in for it.  He is already into everything and has taken to pulling himself up on anything and everything.

Here are some pictures from our visit and Easter...

8 Months

So here we are again, another month later and I STILL can't believe how quickly our little boy is growing up! It is so amazing to watch him discover and learn new things everyday, but can the months please stop flying by??!!!!

We don't go back to the doctor until next month, so yippee for no shots again this month!! I do have an update on Brayden's weight though...he is now 22 pounds. Our big, healthy boy!

Clothes Size: Still 12 months

Diapers: Still size 4

Updates from the past month:

- Brayden still loves sitting up, playing with his toys, and watching Bailey dog. He can almost get himself up into the sitting position on his own now too.

-Brayden is still a rolling machine! He doesn't like laying still anymore either, which makes diaper changes and getting dressed very interesting, haha.

-Brayden continues to smile and talk all the time! He now says "ya-ya" all the time and even "da-da" every so often. He is also getting much louder! :)

-Brayden also loves to stand up and be propped up against the couch or the coffee table. He is also starting to take steps now when we hold his hands to "walk" him.

-Brayden is starting to laugh more and more, but still not on a regular basis...hopefully soon though. His laughs are heartwarming!

-Brayden is also eating lots of baby food now, including avocado, sweet potatoes, carrots, peas, green beans, broccoli, pears, apples, banana, prunes, rice cereal, and oatmeal. He still loves avocado and sweet potatoes, plus he seems to really like carrots, apples with oatmeal, bananas, and apples/prunes combo.

Sleep habits (for now....):

-Wake time is around 6:30 or 7am
-Brayden takes two naps a day (typically 9:30am and 2:30pm) which average about 1.5 hours.
-Bedtime is 7:30pm

-Brayden still sleeps on his side or tummy for the most part.

What is next:

-More laughing...can't ever get enough of those belly laughs!

-More "talking". Maybe "mama" soon?! :)

-Some more foods...up next is strawberries and zucchini.

-Brayden now pushes himself onto his knees and rocks back and forth. He can even moves one leg and one arm before belly flopping! So we might have a crawling baby soon! Hopefully we will hold off on the walking for a while though...I am not ready to be chasing after a little one yet!!

Welcome to eight months! We are overwhelmed with love for you Brayden!

Changes

So this week has been full of changes. First Brayden's runny nose and dry cough (which we attributed to teething), turned into a stuffy nose and nasty cough. After day two of the cough, which was getting worse and more frequent, I took him to the doctor. I just didn't like the sound of it...it made me uneasy. Away, turns out he has a sinus infection. So he is now on Amoxicillin for the first time. We are on day two of medicine, so I am hoping that the cough and congestion clear up soon!!

Then Wednesday morning, after Brayden's doctors appointment Tuesday night, I woke up and thought that I was going to get sick. I tried to push through it and get myself together to go downstairs to work, but I just couldn't, so back to bed I went. When Brayden got up at 7am, I tried again to get up and go get him, but I couldn't. So Dan got up and brought Brayden to me to nurse. Long story short, after nursing, Brayden proceeded to throw up all over our bed!! Poor guy. Now, as most of you know, Brayden was a spitter-upper (sometimes projectile too), so Dan and I are both used to that by now (although since starting solid foods he rarely spits up anymore)....but this was wayyyy more than we have ever seen! It was literally everything he ate! So we called the doctor and went over his symptoms and they told me that they thought he had a viral infection and then gave me a long list of instructions on his restricted diet and feeding him for the remainder of the day. Needless to say, Brayden and I spent most of yesterday just laying around and re-cooperating. Oh, and doing laundry and throwing out pillows. Ugh.

Today we both woke up feeling much better, although we both are still congested and have nasty coughs. But it is a start. For another first, Brayden's bottom front two teeth came in this morning. They are just tiny little things, but they are there! So cute, but I will miss his gummy smile that lights up my heart!

On a side note, a week or two ago, Brayden start pushing back on all fours and rocking. Maybe crawling soon??? Who knows, and I am not pushing that one. I like my somewhat stationary baby. Although, you turn away for one second and he rolls all the way across the room. I can't believe that tomorrow Brayden will be eight months old...that update coming very soon!!!
