Hair Cut and New Toy

So Brayden had his first hair cut today! Well I don't know if you can call it a hair cut, because he only had the back trimmed...but in my mind it was and I even kept his first and only (literally) lock of hair. When Brayden's baby hair fell out, the hair in one spot on the back of his head never did. Needless to say, as his new hair has been growing in more and more over the past months, the hair in that one spot continued to get longer. Prior to Brayden's hair cut today, it looked like he had a partial mullet, haha. So, when I was going to get my hair done today, I just knew that it was time for Brayden to get his hair trimmed as well. This was a tough decision for me though, because I love to play with his hair...especially that one long section that has started to curl. Anyway, it was time. :(

Here are some before pictures...a little difficult to get a 10 month old to look straight ahead and not turn his head when he hears the camera, but I think you can get the picture.

First hair cut with Wendy and he did GREAT!

Brayden also got a new toy over the weekend from our wonderful neighbor. He had a blast putting it together with Daddy and playing all weekend.

10 Months

With every month that passes, I still can't grasp how quickly my "little baby" is growing and learning! Brayden is now into EVERYTHING and is always keeping us on our toes. You look away for one second, and our little man can stir up a lot of trouble! ;)

Clothing Size: 18 months, although some 12 month still works too

Diapers: Size 4 (daytime) and Size 5 Overnights

Doctor Stats:

We don't go back to the doctor until 12 months! I can't believe that Brayden is only two short months away from being one year old!

Updates from the past month:

- Brayden loves to play, although his toys seem to be a thing of the past right now....he is into EVERYTHING!

-Brayden is constantly on the move (unless he is sleeping or eating), which makes diaper changes and getting dressed very interesting, haha! He loves to pull himself up on anything and everything, and crawl all over the place...especially when chasing after Bailey! Poor dog! J/k I know that Bailey secretly loves Brayden, because he wags his tail when Brayden crawls over to him.

-Brayden also learned to climb up the stairs this past month. So we now have gates at the top and bottom of the stairs.

-Brayden continues to smile and talk all the time! He most recent sound is the rolling of his tongue. He has been doing it all the time lately and just smiles away like he is so proud of himself..I love it!

-Brayden has started to take a few steps when holding onto just one of our hands and when holding onto the back of his push toy...but that's about it for progress on the walking. He can stand for a few seconds on his own too. I must admit that we have not been encouraging him to walk any sooner than necessary. I can only imagine what he will get into then!

-Brayden is laughing a lot more now, especially when we pretend to tickle him. His laughs are just heartwarming!

-Brayden still continues to be a great eater. We have started introducing more and more solid foods recently, although he still loves his puffs the best. But we have also tried pieces of peaches and pears...which didn't go over too well. I think that they were a little tough for him to pick up. Bananas, peas, cheese, and of course bread are a huge hit. He also liked waffles as well.

Sleep habits (for now....):

-Wake time is around 6:30
-Brayden takes two naps a day (9:30 and 3pm). Morning nap is typically 2 hours and afternoon nap is a little over an hour
-Bedtime is 7:30pm

-Brayden still sleeps on his side or tummy 99.9 percent of the time.

What is next:

-More laughing...we are still waiting for the out of nowhere random laugh. Can't get enough of those belly laughs!

-More "talking". Maybe "mama" soon...PLEASE! I mean, I am with him everyday, haha.

Here are some pictures from today. Of course I insisted on taking Brayden's 10 month pictures on his actually 10 month birthday, which was not the best idea because we had to wake him up from his afternoon nap and he was not in the happiest of modes. But considering the circumstances, I think we still got some okay pictures...

Borderline...

Okay, there is my happy boy!

 Loves reading books!

Our curious little one...trying to undo the toilet seat lock, haha.

Brayden, we can't believe that you are already 10 months old! We love you and couldn't be more blessed to be your parents!

Family

Is there anything better than time spent with family??

Uncle Chris

My Happy Boys

Brayden and Nana

Brayden and PopPop

Tonight we went over to Nana and Grandpa's new house for a surprise house warming visit and brought dinner. We had a great time and Brayden even found a "new" chair that he loved!!

Our Days

So far the month of June has been a busy one...one graduation party, my parents (Nana and Grandpa) staying with us for a week and then moving into their new place, and a wedding in West Virginia. Up next another wedding (MomMom and PopPop will babysit) and a trip to Las Vegas and Brayden's first plane ride! I am a little anxious, but I am sure that Brayden will do just fine!

In the mist of our busy days, we have still managed to find time to enjoy the warm summer days.

And help mommy put away the groceries...

And learn how to play Daddy's guitar...

And try to escape...

And get into the pantry...

And be as cute as cute can be...
